A Toast from the Rotarians of Vacoas (September 2007)
As you will recall, Mr President, we have received a correspondence from Rotarian Graham Hadfield from the Rotary Club of Driffield on 9 August 2007.
Rotarian Graham has stated that since 1974, it has been a custom at their club to raise their glasses at their Club's weekly meeting, and drink a toast to a Club, in another country, to share a few moments in the world-wide fellowship of Rotary.
At their meeting on 4th September, the Rotary Club of Driffield has proposed a toast to the Rotarians of Vacoas and have entered our Club's name in their register of fellowship. Driffield Rotary Club was chartered in 1962, and at the present time has a membership of twenty-five. They meet on Tuesdays, 6.45 p.m., at Driffield Golf Club.
Dear Rotarians, we are very thankful to Rotarian Graham Hadfield for their kind fellowship last Tuesday. It is my great pleasure to propose a toast, tonight, to the Rotary Club of Driffield. Let us all, in our thoughts, convey our warmest greetings and best wishes to the Rotary Club of Driffield.
